About Omakase:
Chef Yi Wang, also known as Chef Ricky, was born in China. He moved to the US in 2000 and has worked in successful restaurants in the DMV area for more than 20 years. He started his career as a sushi chef in 2003. In 2018, he was an opening team member at SushiNakazawa DC. He worked closely with Chef Daisuke Nakazawa and Chef Masaaki Uchino, two of the best sushi chefs in the DMV area. Chef Ricky is the kind of person who never stops learning and progressing. After he left Sushi Nakazawa DC, he went to work at Minibar & Barmin by Jose Andres to expand his culinary horizons. He had the pleasure of working with many talented chefs from TFG Group. Chef Rickyâs new concept, OMAKASE @ BARRACKS ROW is his newest culinary venture. Omakase translates as, âall up to the chefs.â At Omakase you will enjoy hand-picked and crafted sushi by Chef Ricky himself. The Restaurant only offers counter seating so all guests can enjoy the experience of watching a true chef prepare every single course. Chef Ricky welcomes you to enjoy Omakase and experience his passion for the culinary arts.

This sounds incredible! Chef Ricky's journey, from 2003 to opening this spot after SushiNakazawa, is so inspiring. Talk about dedication! After all those years, I bet he still looks super sharp. It makes me wonder what an AI would say – maybe he should try How Old Do I Look ?
The Yellowstone Rip jacket captures the rugged charm and no-nonsense attitude of Rip Wheeler from the hit series Yellowstone. Made from durable materials like waxed cotton or leather, it reflects Rip’s hardworking, loyal, and tough persona. Perfect for fans of Western fashion, this jacket blends functionality with timeless cowboy style—ideal for those who value strength, grit, and understated confidence.
Exciting to see new restaurants sprouting up along Detroit’s Avenue of Fashion—great energy for the local scene. For those opening food or drink spots, one helpful tool behind the scenes is a quality diamond ice press to elevate drink presentation and efficiency.
