Resources for Building Owners

If you own a commercial building within the boundaries of our Main Street District, which includes all the blocks between 7th Street SE to the west, 9th Street SE to the east, the Eastern Market Metro Park to the north, and the Latrobe Gate to the Washington Navy Yard to the south, then you (and your tenants!) qualify for a number of services we can offer to help you!

For the resources available to your tenants, please go to our Resources for Business Owners page

As a landlord, we can also offer you some additional assistance:

FACADE GRANTS

Barracks Row Main Street runs a robust Façade Improvement Program. All businesses within our boundary qualify for our Sign & Awning Grants, and properties located south of G Street SE may also qualify for our larger Façade Improvement Program, funded by the DC Department of Housing and Community Development. Please reach out to our office at 202-544-3188 for more details.

HELP LOCATING NEW TENANTS

Barracks Row Main Street has served as the "matchmaker" between building and business owners on 8th Street SE for over 20 years. We can connect you with licensed brokers to sell or lease your building, or we can help connect you directly to investors who are buying property on the street and businesses looking for space.

LEASE NEGOTIATION ASSISTANCE

One of the advantages of being here on the street and working with our small business community every single day is that we have a good understanding of the current conditions on the street and the direction that leases are going on different blocks. Reach out to us at 202-544-3188 for a complimentary review of your current lease(s) on Barracks Row, or to discuss filling a vacancy on the street.

HOW MUCH WILL ALL THIS COST ME?

Like all other DC Main Streets programs, Barracks Row Main Street does not have or levy any dues, fees, assessments or fines. You read that correctly - all of our services to building and business owners are provided completely free of charge. We rely on voluntary contributions and grant funding to do our work, so if you find the services we provide valuable, please consider donating today!
