THE GARDEN PARTY
The 2020 Barracks Row Garden Party date will be announced soon! In the meantime, read about last year's event here:
The Barracks Row Main Street June Garden Party, held at Deer House on East Capitol Street, is both our biggest fundraiser of the year and also the best social event of the Capitol Hill summer season.
Each year on a perfect evening in early June Barracks Row Main Street celebrates our ongoing improvements along the Row with a Garden Party. From the front lawn of a spectacular Capitol Hill Victorian notes from a jazz duo float along to meet our arriving guests.
The blooming garden completes with a spectacular 20’ tall garden mural. The scene soon becomes even more vivid as friends from all over the neighborhood meet and mingle attired in their summer best - from bright sundresses and seersucker suits, to white linen frocks and Hawaiian shirts. Joining the festivities are the chefs of Barracks Row! Usually behind the scenes working hard in hot kitchens at this party our chefs are there in the garden ready to meet the crowd with samples of their latest recipes.
Meanwhile, inside this historic Victorian home the stately dining room is full of desserts and even more music as the baby grand is put to its best use. Many guests relax looking out on the party below from wicker easy chairs located on a turn-of- the-century wrap around porch.
The 2019 Barracks Row Garden Party was held last year on Wednesday, June 5 from 6PM to 8PM at Deer House, 712 East Capitol St., Washington, DC 20003. Download the Event Program here!
