Organization Committee

Mission:

The Organization Committee builds consensus and cooperation among the many groups and individuals who have a role in the revitalization process to create a strong and sustainable organization.

Activities & Achievements to Date:

  • board of directorsBRMS was selected as an official DC Main Street program by ReStore DC
  • Created a five-year strategic plan for the organization
  • Developed a comprehensive fundraising plan; conducts annual fundraising activities to ensure that adequate funding is in place at all times
  • Organized and conducted nomination program for the board of directors
  • Acquainted new members with Main Street program goals, activities, policies, and procedures
  • Assisted the Design, Promotion, and Economic Revitalization Committees in recruiting new members
  • Writes the annual report and organizes the annual meeting
  • Won the 2005 Great American Main Street Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation
  • Was honored by the 2005 Herrema Awards from the Capitol Hill Community Foundation
