For the past decade, Barracks Row Main Street has worked tirelessly to preserve and enhance Capitol Hill’s historic 8th Street, SE, commercial corridor and to revitalize its business community.
The group’s focus is the five blocks of 8th Street that stretch south from Pennsylvania Ave S.E. to the terminus of 8th Street at the Washington Navy Yard along M Street, S.E.
Barracks Row is located eight blocks east of the U.S. Capitol.
On Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16 Barracks Row / 8th Street SE becomes a cooking school campus - first class begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15 and the last class begins at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16. Take one class or schedule a whole day or entire weekend of classes - its totally a-la-carte.

Most classes will be held at our restaurants, however some will be held at Hill Center, 921 Pennsylvania Ave SE. Finding Hill Center is easy: from Eastern Market Metro plaza walk one block east, crossing 8th Street, SE and continue past Dunkin Donuts and the BP gas station to 9th Street, SE. Hill Center is at the corner of 9th and Pennsylvania Avenue, SE, a one block walk from Metro.
You must purchase tickets on-line at this link by 6:00 p.m. Nov. 14 for the Saturday, Nov. 15 classes and by 6:00 pm Nov. 15 for the Sunday, November 16 classes. You will be sent purchase confirmation by email.
Once a class is full it will be closed to further registrants. We sell out of every class every year, so buy your tickets early!
You must be 12 years of age to participate, or 21 years of age if class includes alcohol.
