Barracks Row Main Street is pleased to announce CSX Corporation as the $10,000 Signature Sponsor of this year's Barracks Row Fall Festival on Capitol Hill and also as an Event Sponsor of the Military Culinary Competition, which is holding it's eighth event as part of this year's Fall Festival.

From the CSX website www.csx.com:

"CSX Corporation, together with its subsidiaries based in Jacksonville, Fla., is one of the nation's leading transportation suppliers. The company’s rail and intermodal businesses provide rail-based transportation services including traditional rail service and the transport of intermodal containers and trailers.

Overall, the CSX Transportation network encompasses about 21,000 route miles of track in 23 states, the District of Columbia and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Our transportation network serves some of the largest population centers in the nation. More than two-thirds of Americans live within CSX’s service territory, accounting for about three-quarters of the nation’s consumption.

CSX serves major markets in the eastern United States and has direct access to all Atlantic and Gulf Coast ports, as well as the Mississippi River, the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway. The company also has access to Pacific ports through alliances with western railroads.

We move a broad portfolio of products across the country in a way that minimizes the effect on the environment, takes traffic off an already congested highway system, and minimizes fuel consumption and transportation costs."

And from the Military Hospitality Alliance website www.mha1.net:

"The reason we are part of the Fall Festival, in the middle of the street, is so that civilians will gain an appreciation for the talented military cooks – over 9000 attendees will witness the event. We are working on the celebrity chefs for 2011, but in 2010 we had Chef Paul Prudhomme, 11-year White House Chef Walter Scheib, and Executive Chefs from the Capital Grille DC and New York City restaurants. The Commandant of the Marine Corps or other high ranking General is always on hand for the event."

We are excited to welcome CSX to the Festival and the Military Culinary Competition and thank them for their ongoing support of the Barracks Row, Capitol Hill and United States Armed Forces communities.
